Macys Coffee shop in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona is where Madison and Doug had their first date. Therefore, it was the PERFECT starting point for their Flagstaff engagement session. It was absolutely lovely watching them reminisce and documenting them. Madison and Doug are one of those couples who have such photogenic chemistry. I had to ask Madison if she had modeling experience, because she was just so comfortable and incredible in front of the camera. She has this way of looking at the camera that was so gorgeous and engaging and made me have the hardest time stopping photographing her. After some delicious coffee and fun photos at Macys, we headed to Arizona Snowbowl to finish up their engagement photos. The aspens made the perfect backdrop for their session.
I find it fascinating as an artist the different personalities that come in front of my camera and the different ways I photograph them. Before each session, I make a point to sit quietly and consciously think to be open to what comes with each person in front of me. To document them as, well- them. And Madison and Doug made me see such incredible light and drama and moodiness and I was. HERE. FOR. IT. I enjoyed working with this fabulous couple so much and it made me thrilled for their upcoming Flagstaff Ranch Golf Club wedding.
